PORTFOLIO 3

As time marches on, I've managed to have some nontechnical things published. While much of what I write in this blog falls in the nontechnical category, it seemed appropriate to set up a separate page for these things. To find more technical articles and so on, go to the first or second part of this portfolio.

Music as a Career Choice
The folks at Admitopia - "where students and school find each other" - are amassing a large number of short essays consisting of advice from a variety of professionals for students. I wrote about the importance of immersing yourself in a quality music performance program and provided a handful of other tips, such as find your niche.

An unedited version of this piece also appears in Reminiscing about music school, the July 30, 2014, post on this blog.

The Radiator and the Bra
This short story was chosen for publication in Storymondo, an international collection of short stories that each have a strong sense of place. Two illustrations by Colleen Clifford, who is studying architecture at CMU (class of 2016), serve as the visual anchors for this story. Her wonderful eye for detail thoroughly refreshed many fond memories of my years at Carnegie-Mellon. More about how this collaboration fell into place will soon appear in this blog.
